Our program takes an action-oriented, evidence-based approach to tackle depression
and anxiety. We utilize methods for short-term and long-term goal setting and
achievement, transform thoughts and behaviours into positive, and recognize and
affirm the cultural stories that we share. Our goal is to understand the unique
challenges faced by marginalized groups, encouraging effective practices that lead to
positive change and measurable outcomes.

Session 1
Date: October 17
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
We’ll start with a hello and a fun game to make everyone feel comfy. Then we’ll talk about how our culture and family stories shape who we are and what we want to do when we grow up. After that, a special guest will share their life story and lessons. At the end, we’ll think about what we learned, share our own thoughts, and wrap things up together.
Session 2
Date: October 14
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
We’ll begin with a quiet mindfulness activity to help everyone feel calm. Next, we’ll join a fun workshop to learn how our feelings and mental health can affect what we want to do in life. After that, we’ll split into small groups to talk about our own experiences and share ideas on keeping balance between health and dreams. Finally, we’ll come back together, share the most important lessons, and give helpful resources to support mental health.
Session 3
Date: November 7
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
We’ll start with a fun warm-up to help everyone meet and feel more confident. Then we’ll learn why making connections is important and how to build good relationships. After that, we’ll practice networking in a fast, fun way—like speed-dating but for meeting people. Finally, we’ll share what we learned and talk about how to use these new skills in the future.
